Thieves Household Cleaner - Clean your Coffee Pot

Quick Tip!

To clean your coffee maker, simply fill the decanter with water and add a cap-full of Thieves Household Cleaner. Run it through a normal brewing cycle. Rinse all the removable parts. Fill the decanter with water again and run it through another normal brewing cycle. Rinse all the removable parts a final time. DONE!

It cleans really well! It even removed some of the old stains on the white rim of my decanter and it smells WAY better than white vinegar.

Car Care

Our Tahoe recently hit 300,000 miles (Whoop! Whoop!) and we are hoping it keeps going. I pray for it often - that God would make it last like He did the sandals of the Israelites in the desert (over 40 years in abrasive sand!). So it is nothing short of a miracle that it is still a safe car that runs perfectly.

We also take really good care of it. Anthony is very diligent about oil, filter and other fluid changes. I also try to keep it cleaned inside. I find that taking good care of (old and well used!) things makes me even more grateful for them. I like contentment. smile emoticon

This is all we use to clean our vehicles. Two cap-fulls of the Thieves Household Cleaner go into this 16 oz. bottle and then it is filled with water. (That concentrate lasts FOREVER.) I use it to clean all the surfaces - yes - even windows! It does a wonderful job, sanitizes everything (steering wheels are super gross, guys) and smells AMAZING. When I am done with that, I finish it off by spraying all the upholstery with Purification Spray that I make by putting 20 drops of Purification into an 8 oz. bottle and then filling it with water.

Easy! Safe! DONE! It smells so great I can't wait to run errands again. wink emoticon

Natural Laundry Options

Let's talk laundry!

I am still loving the new(ish) Thieves Laundry Detergent. A little goes a long way and it has helped our clothes survive home renovations AND potty training. I have a standard top load washer and still only use a half cap full. It cleans clothes really well, is gentle on colors and fabrics and has a light citrusy scent - just lovely.
For towels, I always let the washer fill up and then add two drops of Purification in addition to the detergent. I think it goes the extra mile to help get rid of that "wet towel" smell that my nose is really sensitive to.
Instead of using a fabric softener, I put a drop of Lavender on four of these wool dryer balls (I purchased these on Amazon.  Norwex also sells them.) and throw them in the dryer with each load. One drop per ball lasts about three or four loads so you don't need to use much. The dryer balls naturally soften your clothes (so don't use them with towels), cuts down your drying time and helps eliminate static which is really helpful this time of year.
Just three products. Nothing toxic. Smells fantastic. Works really well. WINNING!

Toothpaste

I put dirt and salt in our toothpaste. Before you think I'm totally nuts, let me share this amazing testimony with you! Anthony went to the dentist a few months ago and has some x-rays done. They told him he had five cavities that needed to be taken care of so they scheduled the fillings for about a month away. I did some research and found out that Bentonite Clay and REAL Salt has minerals in it that can heal cavities. I ordered some from Amazon and whipped up this toothpaste recipe which we have been using ever since. When he went to his appointment to get his cavities filled, they only had to do one. The other four had healed! We were so thankful!

I also added thieves to this recipe because he showed some signs of gum disease. Thieves helps fight bacteria and his gums are so healthy now, too. So... win/win!

TOOTHPASTE

1 1/2 T Bentonite Clay
1 T Water
1 T Coconut Oil
2 t Baking Soda
2 drops Stevia Extract
8 drops Peppermint
6 drops Thieves Blend
Sprinkle of REAL Salt

Mix all of this with a wooden or plastic spoon because the clay will pull and hold on to the metals in metal utensils. Keep in your bathroom in a glass jar and use a clean finger to grab a bit to place on your toothbrush. Then, brush as you normally would.

Homemade Cleaners

Every time I run out of a product I have been buying, I've been replacing them with homemade versions using natural products and essential oils from Young Living. This offsets a lot of the investment we have made in the oils. I like the fact that all of their oils have so many different uses - which really simplifies what I have to purchase regularly for my family. I am surprised at the amazing results I got from these cleaners! They are far more effective than ones I have been buying and also smell so much better!

Thieves & Lemon All Purpose Cleaner
2 T Liquid Castile Soap
8 drops Thieves Essential Oil
4 drops Lemon Essential Oil
Add these ingredients to a 16 oz. GLASS container with a trigger sprayer and fill with water slowly. Shake and use on any surface. This sanitizes and cleans really well!
Lavender Glass Cleaner
1/2 cup White Vinegar
10 drops Lavender Essential Oil
Add these ingredients to a 16 oz. container with a trigger sprayer and fill with water. Shake and use on mirrors, glass and stainless steel. It leaves a beautiful streak free shine!
Purification Cleaner
2 T Liquid Castile Soap
10 drops Purification Essential Oil Blend
Add these ingredients to a 16 oz. GLASS container with a trigger sprayer and fill with water slowly. Shake and use on any surface. This sanitizes and deodorizes! I use it on our toilets and bathroom floors. I also spray our mattresses with it when I wash our sheets and just let it air dry before putting the sheets back on. And I spray it inside our trash cans and diaper pails when I change the bags. It is amazing how well this removes odors!

Sore Throat Syrup

Anthony and I started getting a sore throat yesterday so I started making this for us to take.  It's really easy, soothing and delicious!

SORE THROAT SYRUP

1/2 teaspoon of Raw Honey
1 drop Theives
1 drop Lemon

Mix together well and consume.

Our symptoms seemed to return after about four hours so we took this a few times yesterday and once already today.  I was impressed with how long its effects lasted.  You could also use regular honey, but raw honey contains proteins, enzymes and is actually antibacterial so it is great for colds and sore throats even by itself.

To add to this remedy, I've also been diffusing the same oils all morning.  Thieves rids the air in our home of any bacteria and Lemon is very energizing in addition to its antioxidant quality.
